Anthony Joshua: Heavyweight Hopes

After his victory over Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday just gone (29 April 2017) for the vacant WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight titles, it only seems fitting to publish a documentary which explores the British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua’s rise to stardom.

Anthony Joshua: Heavyweight Hopes originally aired back in 2014 so it isn’t quite up to date with regards to his recent accomplishments, in fact at the time of its broadcast Joshua had only fought 7 fights and had not yet won any professional belts, but nevertheless it provides a brilliant insight into his past and the road in which he had to travel in order to get to where he is today.

In the film Joshua takes us back to Watford’s Meriden Estate where he grew up as he explains how he managed to avoid becoming another stereotype from a council estate in England, rising above the distractions presented to him as a teenager and managing to put all his focus into boxing turning his life around and achieving his goals.

It is quite an inspiring watch so whether you’re into boxing or not I have no doubt that many of you out there will enjoy it.
