VICE followed the story of the Westboro Baptist Church as families split and children were brainwashed into picketing funerals and bashing homosexuals.

During that time, VICE interviewed more than a dozen members of the reviled group, including some of the only members not related by blood, the Drains.

They welcomed the filmmakers into their homes and gave them access to 17 years of home video footage. In return, they produced an unbiased look into the lives of one of America’s most despised organizations.

Even non-christians will find this church incredibly absurd and their views extremely discriminatory. However, if you are Christian and you believe that everything in the Bible is infallible, the WBC’s message is actually pretty sound in contrast…

I Just feel sorry for christians, in fact I feel sorry for all members of religion, after all they are the bench mark of gullibility (Tell someone this is exactly what happened and don’t ask questions!) How do we know?…well we have a book that says so of course… Don’t you? …no? Pffft…”Hey guys…check out the non believer :D ”…. Islamic’s, Judaism,Christianity….

Your all the poison of the earth and the reason humanity wont persist for much longer.

A simple equation …(One group believes devoting there time and money to a church will get them paradise and heaven) The other believes doing the same gets them 50 virgins and paradise….

Hmmm …IL raise you 50 virgins and throw in a honda with air bags and leather seats! :)

      My religion wins!!

all these cults have the same fundamental properties…

      1) Give us money

      In return…

We will give you paradise/heaven (piece of mind for when you die)

      2) Hate anyone else that dosent believe in us (Gays/other religions/women with rights)

After all were are the only truth…

It has been said that the AK47 Assault rifle has been the cause of most human deaths in recent history but that is simply untrue….religion has always been… and always will be the biggest cause of hatred and death amongst humans…. sleep tight folks and welcome to earth populated by humans carrying the biggest cancerous virus that is religion….

See, this is why I have a big problem with people who say they hate religion and religious people. Because usually they’re not talking about every religion, just a few of the popular ones. Not all religions say to hate a certain group or groups of people. Not all religions say that there is only one true spiritual path. Not all religions ask for money or promise paradise in exchange for following a doctrine and damnation for not.

For example, my religion has one ‘law’: do what you want, as long as you’re not hurting anybody. No seriously, that’s it. There’s no “you’re going to Hell if you do this, this, or this.” My religion also has somewhat of an all rivers lead to the ocean sort of principle. No one spiritual path is more valid than another, it just depends on what’s right for the person. It’s fine to not follow whatever religion you believe, or no religion at all, as long as you’re not hurting anyone. You can be solitary or in a group. There is no Hell. Asking questions and evolving as a person are very encouraged. As far as I can tell, there’s never been a holy war over my religion. But it is a comparatively young religion.

So it’s really strange to me that so many people are quick to say that me and my beliefs are oppressive cancers that poison the world and kill billions of people.

There are slews of documentaries on the WBC, and almost all of them are better than this one. VICE typically isn’t that great.

  3. Hmm. The WBC has some very silly ideas. At least these guys seem a bit saner than that lady from Jesus Camp :/

There’s something wrong with the people being so hateful towards these WBC members, too – the guy leaving death threats and the people on the street being aggressive and insulting.

I’m not even going to watch part 2. Reinstate the death penalty for being homosexual? These people need to get into a more contemporary mindset. Get your heads out of the god damn bible for 2 minutes. Obviously the dude that started the church was looking for god after his perjury charge and found the need to start pandering bull shit in a church instead of bull shit in a court room. People used to fight over land back in the Greek and Roman days. But once religion came around everybody’s trying to claim that their god can beat up everyone else’s god. And that’s still evident today. The U.S. went to war with Iraq because dubyah wanted to make up for daddy not handling his business 20 years ago and he thought god made him president to help do that. Maybe we should vote on a constitutional amendment that says “no seriously, separation of church and state. Don’t bring god into policy decisions.”
