Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life

David starts his journey in Darwin’s home at Down House in Kent, where Darwin worried and puzzled over the origins of life. David goes back to his roots in Leicestershire, where he hunted for fossils as a child, and where another schoolboy unearthed a significant find in the 1950s. And he revisits Cambridge University, where both he and Darwin studied, and where many years later the DNA double helix was discovered, providing the foundations for genetics.

At the end of his journey in the Natural History Museum in London, David concludes that Darwin’s great insight revolutionized the way in which we see the world. We now understand why there are so many different species, and why they are distributed in the way they are. But above all, Darwin has shown us that we are not set apart from the natural world, and do not have dominion over it. We are subject to its laws and processes, as are all other animals on earth to which, indeed, we are related.

If this stuff is blocked…why the hell do you even list it?…

  • You have to be a very small minded individual to believe what this man is saying. That all of the continents on earth was once together and moved apart under the deep ocean. You are talking about continents measuring millions if not trillions of depths below the ground with immeaurable tons of soil and rock. How is that possible, given how big the ocean is? These scientists need to stop lying in their attempts to strengthen evolution and actually use science for once. News flash, evolution is still an unproven theory. No one has proved it, but these scientists pretend its real. Simply because they don’t want to look stupid, in that they can’t find out where man came from. Every day another lie comes up. A lie like this one, which they have no scientific proof to back up. You always find people stupid enough to believe it.

Scientists are usually the first to admit they can’t prove something if they don’t have cold hard evidence to prove it. Evolution has been proven and accepted time and time again – even by religious people. What do you believe about natural history that you have real evidence for? Hopefully not just a work of fiction written decades and later, centuries, after the alleged events occurred. Not a single hard fact and not even, as unreliable as it is, a single eye witness. Go pound sand, malcontent, face reality and grow up….or do you believe in Santa Clause, too?

    • Ignorant scientist

What? It’s not as if scientists just sit in a room writing a book about things they’ve made up to fill the void. They do extensive research and investigation before coming to any type of conclusion. Furthermore, not to repeat RG, there is most certainly evidence to back the Continental Drift Theory. To name a few: Magnetic pole changes in the ocean crust, fossil deposits, climate changes, and many many more. The continents even fit in a puzzle if you were to “cut them out” and piece them together. Try to understand reasoning before you get so defensive over beliefs you may have. If you come up with strong evidence to whatever you believe, then I’m sure scientists will be willing to listen.

Hahaha, i guess you believe that the earth is flat as well? Evolution, DNA and Pangaea (the most recent supercontinent, that was split up by the continental drift about 175 million years ago, into the continents we have today) has ALL been proven. The only one that is narrow minded and ignorant here, is you. I didn’t think that anyone in today’s society could be so unaware as you are, but i guess there will always be people that’s stupid enough. You have to be satirical or an internet troll, otherwise it’s really scary! ^_^
