Friends of God

This documentary centers around the relationship between Christian evangelical churches and political activism. It attempts to demonstrate how these organizations have shaped modern politics in regards to issues that include, but are not limited to, gay rights, abortion, and the creation-evolution controversy.

The estimated 50 to 80 million evangelical Christians living in America today have become a formidable force in US culture and democracy. But the evangelical movement is a big tent. To try and get a better understanding of the range and diversity of this community, intrepid filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi hit the road to meet some evangelicals and learn about what their influence may mean for the future of the US.

In this documentary, Alexandra Pelosi visits several of the largest evangelical Christian church congregations (“megachurches”) in the country, such as Lakewood Church and New Life Church (Colorado Springs, Colorado), and interviews their leaders and members. Pelosi also visits other Christian organizations like the Christian Wrestling Federation and Cruisers for Christ (a car club) as well as others committed to spreading the Gospel through their own unique packaging and marketing.

  1. Christian comedy is nol funny. Also,no word of the Native Americans whose country they claim to have formed…..hmm.

  2. It is sickening to hear that American comedian say that America is the greatest country ever and better than Europe.Yeah, sure, your religious is so great,is it not? You don’t even have a proper healthcare system that takes care of people;.Of course the brainwashed in the audience buy it up.

  3. That Ted Haggard looks as fake as anything with his phony smile.Come to think of it,most of these preachers do look that way, like used car salesmen.

  4. Go to church serve the Lord but don’t homeschool your children!

  5. RE: A Question for Kevin Ham “Do you honestly believe what you are incorrectly teaching children as to what the theory of evolution say, or are you deliberately misrepresenting what evolution teaches so as to mislead innocent children. If you actually knew anything about evolution you would realize that they way you a representing evolution is completely inaccurate.”

  6. It’s easy for men to say their wives are totally sexually satisfied, but why don’t we hear from them women about what amazing lovers their husbands are?

  7. I’d be interested to know how many of those evangelical wives say they climax every time they have sex. I’m sure there husbands believe they are the ultimate lovers, but if those wives were asked anonymously, I doubt those guys would seem like such “studs.” How many are really familiar with the clitoris and the amount of foreplay and oral stimulation that most women need to achieve orgasm?

  8. I think that it is sad to see so many believers in Jesus be so passionate and seem so sincere, but in reality they are pursuing the wrong things. I don’t think Jesus Christ would have been concerned with political power, and “winning back a nation”…. He would definitely be sharing the gospel with these political leaders, but He knows that His kingdom is not of this world, and waging war in the flesh for power in the flesh is not much of God’s concern as loving people and forgiveness of sins. That is the war believers should be fighting.

“blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you because of me, REJOICE and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you”- Matthew 5:11-12

As followers of Jesus we need not to wage war against flesh and blood. So instead of saying, “those damn liberals”, we should pray for them.

God is love, but He has made it clear that we have all sinned and have become seperated from God, because He is completely pure and holy(no sin can be found in God), and He has sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for us to take our sins away, and GIVE us everlasting life.

We cannot earn salvation, all we can do is repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins

    • I’m laughing at these leftist comments, you truly have no clue what’s coming and your open borders are going to cause massive deaths

    • Connor is following the narrow path of righteousness. Look, listen and pay attention. It is beyond our limited (human) understanding. In the realm of following the Lord, we gain Faith. And through that Faith we gain Guidance. So through Guidance we can persevere with the Spirit that has been left upon us to fight the spiritual warfare encountering us daily. Regardless of what is happening in the world do not be distracted. Remember, what cannot be taken when you pass remains of this world. Aim in all your ways towards Him. When it is finished, we shall share His Glory for eternity. And that is the end game differentiating those who will not make to those reigning in His kingdom forever.

  9. televised in 225 million homes across the us? This cannot be correct. The us pop. is around 300 million 75% is bull.

  10. I love how the creationists are portrayed as imbeciles and the evolutionists are portrayed as smart. This always seems to be the way with these documentaries. Creation – BOO! Evolution – YAY! Is it possible to get a simple ‘observational’ documentary, instead of a documentary that’s biased and regurgitating the same old rubbish?

  11. Dumb fucking ads. No doc.

    FUCKING IDIOTS!

  12. Holy Land Experience- now thats twisted

  13.  The reason why that “comedian” doesn’t have his own sitcom or whatever is because his material is not FUNNY. oh and jsyk, this country was not founded on the basis of Christianity. Most of the founding fathers did not believe in a god.  I’m Catholic but COME ON. Stop spreading lies.

  15. wow. i cannot believe that these people are purposefully miseducating their children. that is terrible. these are the kind of people holding back progress.

  16. 25,000.00 per cross.. hmmm I think a bigger message of God’s love would be to feed starving children with that money… just saying

  17. Interesting point of view…

  18. Well said…
