Why We Fight

Why We Fight (2005) is a documentary film directed by Eugene Jarecki about the United States’s relationship with war. Its title is an allusion to the World War II-era newsreels of the same name, which were commissioned by the United States to justify their decision to go to war against the Axis Powers.

Why We Fight describes the rise and maintenance of the United States military-industrial complex and its involvement in the wars led by the United States during the last fifty years, and in particular in the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. The film alleges that in every decade since World War II, the American public has been told a lie to bring it into war to fuel the military-economic machine, which in turn maintains American dominance in the world.

    • Stupid!!! Wars helping economy is crap!! Production does not grow under rubbles and material goods do not come out of bombs being pelted on factories et cetera!!! What about soviet russia seizing one third of the world back in the day and socialist india and communist china disputing over a land and going to war with one another?? america or bush’s fault huh??? A BS!!!

  1. Awesome doco that reveals the truth behind the G.W Bush regime. I hope that one day Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield are tried for war crimes for the thousands of innocent civilians they’ve played a hand in killing and the thousands of US soldiers that have died in wars purely fought due to their own personal vendettas and agendas.

  2. This whole documentary is nothing but American propaganda. All one needs to do is look into each politician’s history to see the absolute greed, lies, power-hungry BS that is dished out.  Docs like this is the reason for the tyranny we have in America

  3. I find the constant War Propaganda and Image Propaganda
Sickening in America.  I realize how dumb and brainwashed
our tyrannical owners have leveled down on our culture. I pray that
we can rise up and break these shackles not only for us but for those
who are constantly subjected to the evil agenda our dictators force on our world.

  4. Look whats going on in Libya and Egypt, their fight for democracy has led to armed resistance, is this where were heading? Can we take back our country from these traitors? I ask myself how can I help take back our country?

  5. Good documentary… It deserves its 8.7 rating
    Americans are weird, tho
