Funny doco. I love the bit at the end where the bloke is arguing that the bible has ‘forensic evidence’ (like it’s scientifically proven or something). I want to see the bibles references then if it is so valid.

This documentary annoyed me in SO many ways! I really dislike this church’s approach to life but it seems like Keith Allen is deliberately twisting/ misunderstanding what they say.
eg: around 38 minutes he says something like “Shirley *says* she’s not interested in sex but she talks about it all the time” – what she actually said was she doesn’t want to know the details of his sex life. And he seems not to get the idea that Westboro are saying all people sin, and they are calling them to repentance like the Old Testament prophets. Mr Allen basically calls Shirley a hypocrite because she had a son outside of marriage, but Westboro’s message is that was wrong, but she repented and was forgiven, as everyone can be.
Not saying who’s right or wrong, but that’s how it seemed to me, that Mr Allen was deliberately trying to make those people look as bad as possible. I guess he’s a comedian not an interviewer, so he’s naturally looking for what he can poke fun at. I thought Louis Theroux did a better job in his documentary – you still got the picture of what Westboro is like, without the interviewer’s opinions getting in the way.
I agree with a lot of what you say, BBBUUUUTTTT, if was unlucky enough to be burrying my child, Nuff said. If someone tell me that because of my choice of sexual partner.
Especially when they talk the talk, but dont walk the walk. Breaking a lot of Leviticus rules themselves, most of which are stoning offences (the bad kind of stoning). Clothing, they work on saturdays, women working a job, children uruly and disrespecting an elder (any Elder). I am not being unreasonable just holding them to their own standard. Brainwashed Hypocrites, who spread a message of hate (Very against new testament teaching).
In fact you cannot follow all of the bible literally because various books contradict each other especially between the old and the new testament.

I find it strange that they believe in a literal bible interpretation, yet seem be very selective on what they do. Fond of Leviticus, but are happy to break at least 10 rules from thier, you stone unruly children, kill apostates etc etc, great book of the bible and well worth a read.

That was outstanding viewing.I respect WBC for the total commitment they have for their beliefs,they are so focused on the Bible and what it says,there’s no room for negotiation or question,it’s amazing,it truly is..However that’s where my admiration,for want of a better word,for this family groups ends.
A Question if they only attacked gays for their lifestyle do u think they would be so openly hated…I mean if they didn’t go to army funerals or walk on the flag do u think there would be such secular dislike for these people? My opinion is no maybe 45% of the anti wbbc would not care if it was only gays being attacked people especially religious people would have no problem with them…the thing is that these wbbc people see that homoseuality and law I.e freedoms ,go hand and hand…can’t have freedom without the freedom to do whatever I.e be gay..
