It disgusts me that in this day and age that such fucking ignorant fools are allowed to breed such hate and filth. There belief are an idealogical cancer that is diplorable. That damn women is such a hypacite aswell, all her logic has been preeched right out of her head. These people need to be informed that other literature has been printed since the bible. People who live there lives by the dogma of a bronze aged cult should be dealt with by a punishment suitable for the time, possibly a stoning.
Y’know, considering the mindset of these idiots, I believe that Keith Allen handled the situation pretty well. The family is obviously dead set on their beliefs and will disregard any and all facts against them, so what’s the point in arguing logically with them? It obviously has no impact whatsoever on them and what they believe… if I would’ve been in his shoes, I wouldn’t have been able to hold back from trying to bitch slap some sense into them. How funny that the mother was so quick to believe that sinners would burn in hell for their sins and, yet, she wouldn’t. What a fucking hypocrite.

Wow. I am a Christian who believes in Jesus, the Christ, who is the Messiah, and the Son of the living God. But this family is out of control! It was hard to watch because I was actually rooting for the atheist to slam the family, yet I am a strong believer. Like Mark said, you cant reject God for the distorted picture this family has created of God.
Louis Theroux’s ‘The Most Hated Family in America,’ dealing also with this family, was a much better documentary. He is able to access the very human side of some of the family members. One daughter, in particular, he gets close to, and you can almost see him getting through to her.
Keith Allen, however, comes across as yammering idiot in this doc. I started out laughing, but then just found myself quite tired of his righteousness, and his ‘I can yell louder than you’ style of argument.
I strongly, strongly recommend ‘The Most Hated Family in America.’
The most shocking part in this documentary is the Fox anchor’s “interview”. Do they not require an education or at least an understanding of journalism? She is FAR more dangerous than the members of this very small cult…

There are many people who love Christ and follow his teaching, who agree this family belongs in a mental hospital. Please don’t aasume everyone who attends a church or calls themselves a Christian are like these lunatics. They will be the ones who will be surprised on judgment day.
No one assumes that all christians are like this, but I would argue that it’s a safe assumption that the vast majority of christians are enablers for this kind of bigotry.
Just look at Chic fil A’s president Dan Cathy’s recent public statements. It was a luke warm denunciation of homosexuality, but offensive nonetheless. And fatboy Mike Huckabee was able to round up TENS of THOUSANDS of assholes to wait in huge lines in support of this. Eating steroid filled chicken breasts is the modern day equivalent of peaceful protest/rallying. Gandhi’s corpse just shit himself.There’s no judgement day, by the way. Don’t fret. Seems America has gone a little softer than the rest of us as far as making hate speech and hate crimes a criminal offence. Check your facts dizzy. There are MANY accounts from his estranged children of their father’s biblical interpretations regarding blacks and women. Their was also an investigative reporting piece that reveals that Phelps Sr. history of courtroom activism for the African-Americans in his community were primarily settled out of court once a large enough settlement value had been reached.

This would have been slightly better if they didn’t bellow at each other so much… Otherwise it makes some very good points for (amazingly enough) both sides. Not to say that I’m about to rush off to join the Church (I got plenty of that with half my family being Mormon…) or become a complete atheist, but you can sort of see both sides. Like I said, just needs less shouting and more real debates, where both sides listen to each other before answering.
