The Most Hated Family in America is a TV documentary written and presented by the BBC’s Louis Theroux about the family at the heart of the Westboro Baptist Church.
At the heart of the documentary is the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), headed by Fred Phelps and based in Topeka, Kansas. It runs the website GodHatesFags.com,[1] and GodHatesAmerica.com, and other websites expressing condemnation of LGBT, Roman Catholics, Muslims, Jews, Sweden, Ireland, Canada, The Netherlands, and other groups. The organization is monitored by the Anti-Defamation League,[2] and classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[3][4] The group has achieved national notice because of its picketing of funeral processions of U.S. soldiers killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The church bases its work around the belief expressed by its best known slogan and the address of its primary website, “God hates fags”, and expresses the opinion, based on its Biblical interpretation, that nearly every tragedy in the world is God’s punishment for homosexuality – specifically society’s increasing tolerance and acceptance of gay, lesbian, and bisexual people. It maintains that God hates homosexuals above all other kinds of “sinners”[5] and that homosexuality should be a capital crime.[6]
Louis Theroux stated that the Phelpses are the most extreme people he has ever met.[7]

Jesus is not dead; Jesus died but rose 3 days later to prove He had the power over death. When Adam and Eve sinned/disobeyed they brought death and sin into the world and the punishment for sin is death, Jesus died in mans’ place so man could be reconciled to God. God is offering anyone who receives Jesus as Lord and Saviour forgiveness for sin; but if that forgiveness is rejected the alternative is HELL for eternity, HELL was not created for man but for Satan and his angels who rebelled against God. It was when the serpent tempted and persuaded Adam and Eve to disobey God that the punishment to be sent to HELL was also passed on to any man who followed Satan and disobeyed God.

Sometimes I’m embarrassed to be considered Christian because of people like this. Do I believe in homosexuality? No. Do I think homosexuality was a part of God’s plan for the world that He created? Jesus gave a new commandment before he was crucified: To love each other like He loves us. That, and the first of the 10 commandments, to love God with all your heart, are the most important commandments there are. Sin is inevitable and all sins are equal. The Phelps make no mention to Jesus in this documentary, and He is the reason everyone can go to heaven. They are very wrong in their views and it is sad to see people create so much hate in themselves and in others.
Whoever is reading my comment, please, just know, if you are unfamiliar with the Bible, that this is not what it says to do or how to act. LOVE is at it’s core. If you are interested, read the Book of John. It is a wonderful place to start to learn who Jesus is.
What makes me sad is that at the end, the young girl wasn’t even certain that she was going to heaven. This just shows how fragile their faith is. It seems like they’re living in fear and hate. I pray they will find the light that comes from Christ and it will change their lives.

God desires that nobody should perish and go to Hell (or be destroyed by fire after the descent of the new Jerusalem) but in order to make a new heaven and a new earth, one that has no more pain, tears or suffering, He must destroy all that is evil or sinful. If we believe on Christ for our salvation and accept Him then his blood has covered us and we will be with God forever. If we do not accept him we will be destroyed along with Satan and his fallen angels so that heaven will not be contaminated by our sin. These people certainly do not preach or believe in the love of God and his desire for all to be with him in heaven, but it is certainly not our place to judge them. God will destroy them with hellfire if they do not turn from their evil ways to believe and accept the truth – salvation in Christ.

Just to make things clearer — I myself do believe in democracy and equality, I’m an atheist and I have nothing against homosexuals. The term republic in the context used in the founding of the U.S.A refers to public representation, or perhaps more aptly a ‘represented public’ in which the majority view is upheld by way of elected representatives that work on behalf of the general public.
A democracy is a republic and the U.S republic is a democracy.
Saying the U.S.A is a republic and not a democracy makes no sense, it’s not a ‘direct democracy’ but it is still a democratic form of governing.
I think some people have confused the definition of the specific form of democratic system called ‘direct democracy’ with the definition of the democratic system itself in general.
Any country can very loosely be called a republic since technically any official government ‘represents’ it’s people with or without the public’s actual support, but the republican system laid out in the formation of the U.S.A is clearly a representative democracy with electoral systems for most offices/positions included.
That’s not to say it’s the best political system however, in fact in my opinion it is a very poor system for providing true democracy especially in the American ultra-capitalist system where it is easily corrupted by those with great wealth buying greater representation than they are entitled to and by foreign interests gaining far too much influence.
The system here in Canada is even worse but it is still a democratic system for the most part as well.
