MARAWI: 153 days of war

Since President Rodrigo Duterte took power in the Philippines his administration has been surrounded in controversy, firstly for his heavy handed stance on drugs which has seen the murdering of drug dealers and users become commonplace without repercussions for those committing such murders.

Now we see the biggest crisis to hit the young administration, a full blown war in Marawi City. The war kicked off when local armed groups pledged allegiance to the international terror group known as the Islamic State (IS) and laid siege to the city in an attempt to establish their own Islamic caliphate in the Philippines.

When all was said and done it took 153 days to put an end to this war and in this film we get a glimpse into the terror and get to know the heroes who helped to stop it.
