A Night At The Garden

New York City is the epicenter of the Hip-Hop world, before Hip-Hip became big business it was a uniting force, at it’s inception Hip-Hip was not all about making a profit or getting your product sold but more about expression and a way of life which empowered those who embraced it.

Hip-Hip originated in the Bronx in the 1970’s, giving birth to it’s golden era, the “Boom Bap” but this documentary by self taught filmmaker Connie Chavez sets about discovering what Hip-Hop has evolved into, question the politics involved and the industries methods of enslaving artists. Chavez meets up with a group known as The Garden and who’s members come from many different backgrounds and beliefs but who all want to reach success together simply out of the love for music.

The Garden consists of the following members:
Boss Carrot
Mr. Lightupp
Henry Blanco
Dre Duece
JPL
