Richard Kuklinski: The Iceman

Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski was an American contract killer who in 1986 was arrested for attempting to murder an undercover cop, he was later convicted of 5 murders but after this conviction he took part in a number of interviews where by through his own admission gave an estimation of having carried out well over 100 hits throughout the course of his career working for the likes of the DeCavalcante mafia crime family of Newark, New Jersey and the Five Families of New York City.

Kuklinski himself went to great lengths to keep his private life and work separate from each other, he lived with his wife in the quite suburb of Dumont, New Jersey. He had two daughters and a boy and prior to his arrest his family were apparently very much unaware of the double life he was leading.

This film examines Kuklinskis family life, his upbringing, his parents and his crimes in an attempt to better understand how he came to be the successful killer that he was.
