South Africa: The Party is Over

In June 2010 the eyes of the world were fixed on South Africa as it hosted the worlds largest international sporting event, the Football World Cup. It was billed as FIFA’s most successful world cup to date and its president gave South Africa a nine out of ten. More over the tournament provided a month long break from the usual bad news about crime, corruption and property that has plagued the nation in recent years and gave ordinary South Africans a chance to bask in the limelight of this huge achievement.

It is only now however, months after the World Cup has ended and the fans have gone home that this country can finally access how it moves forward and how it overcomes the huge number of challenges that it faces.
