The Bloody History of Communism

Communism was the bloodiest ideology that caused more than 120 million innocent deaths in the 20th century.
It was a nightmare which promised equality and justice, but which brought only bloodshed, death, torture and fear.
This three-volume documentary displays the terrible savagery of communism and its underlying philosophy.
From Marx to Lenin, Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot, discover how the materialist philosophy transforms humans into theorists of violence and masters of cruelty.

  1. By now it is broken, cant see it.

  2. Capitalism any better. Germ warfare with tainted blankets of smallpox, countless right hands cut off for the sake of rubber and diamonds, slavery, and modern government s who lie with impunity with no reprocausions whats so ever,etc.,etc. Not a communist but if the aim of this film was for propaganda remember a small minded idiot might agree but in todays world forward thinkers see right through it and the only threats to us is in our own hearts

    • What the crap are you talking about??? Those right hand-less men were perpetrated in brutal warfares that plagued africa and middle east for generations lol……Government that lie with no impunity, what about governments that lie to their people and tell them they are for their welfare and kill those same people with no impunity???? Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot!!! And slave labor camps and inhuman medical practices in those torture chambers involving millions and millions of people????? You are the one who sounds like an ignorant small minded idiot and next time, learn to spell correctly!!!! Thanks lol…….

  3. Just over 9 minutes? WHY bother? [EDIT] Oh, I see now it says ‘1 of 14’, my bad. 😀

  4. This documentary is deserving of much higher ratings. It is quite clear the negative comments are biased toward the subject matter and not based upon the reality of the content – but then again, maybe they are based upon the content in that it is competently and thoroughly explored and given the light it deserves. It does not pretend to play to people’s emotions nor to attempt to justify them in their current state of their lives – this is not tripe like Michael Moore’s trash. This is an academic work of a subject that is seemingly something you cannot honestly explore anymore without raising the emotional ire of those few who are its benefactors in the West – those who follow the cult of liberalism.

This documentary has as its focus the history of communism. Detractors cannot claim, in any honest sincerity, it does not condemn capitalism simply because the documentary is not about capitalism. It is about communism.

Their lack of common-sense reasoning would have them condemn a documentary about Mopar muscle cars because it did not include Ford or GM muscle cars. It is simply ridiculous.

It is also obvious detractors have not watched the documentary before publishing negative comments. This documentary deserves a good, solid 9 (or even 10!) for its thoroughness, research (how many other documentaries actually cite their sources online? You will never find that on the “History” channel.

This is well worth watching and is an honest and objective and thorough expose of something that is not just from the past, but something that is, sadly, “alive” and “well” today.

    • Your comments point to a deep belief and love of current facsism. The Republican, right wing conservative, home grown Taliban.

    • Tx for the review. Almost skipped it based on the ratings. Will check it out.

    • The simple truth is the ideology of Communism was a bridge too far for the reality of human nature- greed, self interest and mistrust of your fellow man lead to the failings of Communism, not the other way round.
Your rantings obviously reveal your inherent bias towards any kind of socialist ideology, which ironically is imbedded in many a constitution of western democracies.
I bet you don’t object when your medication is subsidised, or you get a free trip to the doctor or your education is subsidised.
Social Libertarianism is a movement seeking to raise all people as equal before the law, and for nation states to prioritise their policies to the well-being of their constituents, rather than operating as large corporations whose only concern is to balance the books.
The terrible injustices and suffering visited upon millions of people in the name of economic globalisation and financial de-regulation has been just as damaging if not more so as the consequences of rampant unmitigated economic growth are now evident in the slow destruction and poisoning of our planet.
But that’s just the price of progress huh? Long as you’ve got your SUV, big screen TV, holiday house and stock portfolio, then your socially acceptable. Bravo.

      • Yes, self interest and greed, you evil bitch!!! Trust your fellow man??? Hahhhaaa, trust you??? The only thing I can trust about you is that to not become a victim to a moral cannibal like you lol…..Yes, I oppose any socialist ideology and socialization of any human endeavor most thoroughly!!!!
I do mind health care and education being subsidized and I do not want them for free!!! Education and health care do not fall from the sky so why should I get them for free??? To fill the state’s greed for power as communism would want it??? In exchange for free material services produced and worked by other men???? What terrible injustices are you talking about?? You are not the first stupid bitch to cry about an injustice lol…. I have already lost faith in your rants for justice!!! If I were being beaten to death, you would laugh and spit at my face hahhhaaa!!! Those de-regulations helped alleviate poverty more than anything else and due to globalization, any corner of the world can be seen by anyone from anywhere!!!! As for those environmental degradations, stop playing the part of caring about earth soo much bwahhhaaaa, your gimmick has run thin!!!!! Lol……….an environment is not as flexible like a rubber as you would like to present lol…….Rampant, unmitigated growth are absolutely just!!!! Good and just!!!! Got it????? Because it provides those people that have the ability to earn more money and live a better life!!!! You fucking bitch!!!!

Everything has a price, you stupid bitch!!!! Nothing is free in this world, got it????

  5. this documentary seems to me more like a propaganda film:
Commies BAD, God GOOD..Follow God, then you’ll be Good.

But God is a vast topic…. God is hope to some, God is destiny to some, There’s no God for some….Nobody can label God as something they believe…and this is where it all went wrong….when somebody said,”I am the messenger of GOD and GOD wants you to…. blah blah blah”. And the less aware people believed that…and by less aware I mean that they have not challenged their mind into the vast possibilities that can be..maybe because of external pressure, maybe due to laziness, maybe something else.
God is awareness, God is feeling, God is doing right by my conscience, God is building and contributing towards society, God is respecting mother earth and other living forms, God is thinking rationally, God is letting go of self-interest and thinking about humanity as a whole and for its betterment. And this is the definition of God for me and I do not want you to accept it but think rationally about it, I might be very wrong, I might be right…who really knows! We are all just biological machines, a result of millions of years of evolution…and because of that evolution we have developed a conscience..a conscience that can juxtapose right and wrong…and keep re evaluating it til the end, as nothing ever is absolute…

    • If God didn’t exist then mankind would have invented him by now, as humans have shown they cannot stand the unknown, the inexplicable, therefore metaphors, parables and fairy tales must be invented to assuage the restless minds of those who cannot accept mystery is a part of existence, and to demand to know everything because one doesn’t understand our inherent biological drive is foolish and arrogant, not to mention dangerous.

    • Totally agree 🙂

    • Long winded reply that I lost interest in after the second sentence. Yes, commies are bad. All the -isms are based in force and control. If that’s not bad to you, I can’t help you.

  6. Like Capitalism doesn’t have blood on their hands…..the imperial power of the U.S. is responsible for an estimated 2 million deaths, since their illegal invasion of the Middle east….but you won’t be seeing too many documentaries talking about that as descent is now fast becoming a punishable offence….

    • Do Not conflate Capitalism with neo capitalism. People who force a market essentially believe in a controlled “free” market. Which is not free whatsoever. NeoCap is a dirty disguise of totalitarian socialism. Please understand the difference, as I’ve been duped as well.

Watch MILTON FRIEDMAN, and your perspectives on capitalism will come to the fruition. As youve once heard of those distant tales of that glorious thing called “TheAmericanDream,” he will enlighten you on what went wrong and possibly how to have this dream once again.

      • Funny how Free Market advocates only demand their economic liberties when it suits them..when it doesn’t they demand protections. The internet has threatened countless vocations, yet it is a force of the free market, a natural phenomena, yet people like rupert Murdoch demand the internet be regulated and news be priced, because it doesn;t suit his interests.

    • Glad you’re at least honest and let us know where you stand, with the commies.

  7. Karl Marx named but why stop there? He was a jew as others were who started wars like Rothchilds whose sons funded both sides of the WW 2 and reparations afterward. It was the Gentile who was sent to be slaughtered fighting these wars as well as those who inhabited the countries involved in these conflicts.

  8. I think this document provided an interesting summary of communism and the resulting inequality and injustice it propagate. Although the initial intension and teaching of Marxism/Darwinism maybe for the collective cohesion of society, real life examples has shown us that it does not work. Living in a democratic and capititalist society has given me the freedom and opprtunities that is forbidden in a communist regime. I wouldn’t trade this for comminism. Even though I was brought up in a Christian household and still having this christian belief in my adult life, I disagree with the religious twist in this documentary. I don’t think people have to be religious to understand morality and know the difference between right and wrong.

  9. I also stopped at the part when the narrator begins talking about Darwinism in order to hint the explanation as to why communists like Stalin and Mao were evil. While there is some truth to what the narrator says (i.e. Friedrich Engels did consider the connection between evolution and dialectical materialism), Darwinism/Evolution didn’t really play a significant role in the framework of Marxism, it was mentioned only incidentally. I also knew that in the end it will insist that communism is evil because of people like Stalin and Mao….I only wish that people should know that communism is not one homogeneous political philosophy but a diverse group of political views that emphasizes on aiming towards classless and egalitarian society without private property. I don’t have to watch the whole documentary to say that it’s biased, it clearly was biased from the beginning. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was just me or the video, but when I finally got to a certain point it became very clear to me that it was biased. This annoys me because (1) I worked my ass off trying to find a good documentary on communism (2) If you want to criticize communism, you have to represent it as accurately as possible so you won’t commit a stupid straw-man fallacy. (3) I want facts, not sensationalist rhetoric. I recommend PBS take on Communism called Communism: The Promise and Reality.

    • Well stated, many people ignorantly refuse to recognise that Communism is just one mark on a very complex and crowded political spectrum. Most commentators who still rant and rave about communism are washed out old neo-conservatives who refuse to give up the old black and white framed fight they always stack to win in their favour – especially when citing African socialist dictatorships; as if they were really socialist anyway.
Many groups are socialist or otherwise in name only – it’s just political branding to sound innocuous.

  10. The only people who praise communism are the ones who never lived in such society, or, if they did, the ones who belonged to the ~5% privilleged “communist” elite. In any “communist” country the true social inequality is larger than in capitalist ones by the way. What deceives some is that they try to measure the inequality by money. In Soviet Union people had money, there were simply lack of goods in shops to buy with that money – unless you belonged to those ~5% who stolen the best goods before they reached the shops.

I lived in the Soviet Union (part of a discriminated minority ethnicity rather than than ethnic Russian) and for me it seems absurd that some would dare to even compare the West with totalytarian communism. Sure, the West has many troubles. But to compare that with a system that killed over hundred of millions people in many genocides and famines caused by political decisions, more than nazism or any other ideology in world’s history? That’s only possible if you consider a life of a single westerner to be more important than lifes of thousands of people in China or former USSR.

Many unfortunately subconciously do this as the history in the West typically accentuates the plight of the West and its former colonies and downplays the mass murders elsewhere.

  11. I don’t think you are Americans, Greengitters, NoGod, JonSvarti, Bamb, and the rest, I think you are simply malcontents who have no real political philosophy. Or philosophy of life, for that matter. Why can you not see the other side of the spectrum? Why do you only tear down the presentation while ignoring the subject? I get it, you hate the Christian religion. Why no comments on the atrocities of historical communism? Christianity hasn’t been this bad for 400 years. Communism has perpetrated these descpicable acts in the last hundred! Millions murdered! And you carry on about anti-Darwinism? Would it be acceptable if it were framed in Muslim beleif? They are the same thing, you know. The Communists stamp out ALL religions.

  12. Funny how many people here love communism…this documentary wasn’t verry good I agree but neither is communism…It never has freed a living soul or made anyones life any better…in fact it always results in the opposite of what it claims to want to do for man. History continues to prove that again and again. The fact that some people think that there are different forms of communism and if we just used the right formula it would work is a pipe dream. The core principals will always result in the same thing time and time again.

  13. Nice video if your not a darwinist.

  14. Btw, to all those that have posted before me, I can’t comment on the content of the documentary itself, as the blurb caused me to immediately lose interest… I guess I saved myself a little time..

  15. Anyone with half a functioning brain knows that the philosophy and ideology behind communism is largely defined by good intentions for all, despite the fact that it doesn’t seem to work in a human society (for that matter, can any social/political policy be said to be “the right one”?). You can’t define a philosophy by a few paranoid psychopaths that have used it as a flagship – such an act is clearly unobjective and implicitly fanatical, and I think we’re well aware of the dangers of fanaticism, especially with respect to the art of being well-informed. Marx would have been utterly distraught had he lived to see the regimes of Stalin, Mao, or (indeed) Pol Pot. I’d suggest you should really consider re-wording the blurb for this documentary in an unbiased manner, lest you expose what could well be perceived as uneducated bigotry!

  16. Marx was a social Darwinist…

“Society is undergoing a silent revolution, which must be submitted to,
and which takes no more notice of the human existences it breaks down than an
earthquake regards the houses it subverts. The classes and the races, too
weak to master the new conditions of life, must give way.” – Karl
Marx, “Forced Emigration”, New York Tribune 1853

Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels advocated Slavery, Racism, Ethnic Hatreds, War and Genocide and mocked Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Equality while showing contempt for the Poor, Workers, Farmers, and Moderates. Anyone who would dispute these things in no scholar of Marx.

    • Yes, society was undergoing a “silent revolution” in 1853, as Marx said in that quote… and it was a capitalist revolution. At the time, the world was moving from feudalism to capitalism. Communism was a tiny movement with only a handful of supporters. You are quoting one of Marx’s descriptions of the effects of ***capitalism***, and trying to pass it off as something that he supported (when in fact it was something he opposed, although he knew that it could not be stopped at the time).

Reading carefully selected quotes from someone’s writings is never a good way to understand what they believed. If you really want to be a “scholar of Marx”, you should know that all his writings are available online for you to read:
      http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/index.htm

Don’t let somebody else tell you what Marx supposedly believed. Read Marx for yourself, and you’ll see that your impression of him was wrong.

  17. To say that Darwin’s theory back then had no scientific foundation is dishonest.. Now if they want to argue that Communists abused Darwin’s theory, then that would be a completely different matter.

  18. This documentary is an ok watch. Factually inaccurate in many areas for sure, but overall it’s ok at presenting the difficulties and horrors that occur when trying to over standardize large groups of people. Russia and China really did have some a hole dictators though.

Benevolence or lack of benevolence aside, communism does require most, if not all decisions of how each individual lives to be made by a dictator or an oligarchy.
Even the weakest mind can see this stifles innovation, opens the door to the worst corruption and by necessity removes most freedoms that can be had in a more capitalistic environment where individuals, not the collective bear more of the responsibly for their actions.

Possibly highly collective societies could flourish in a population that is much more enlightened than we have now, ever have had or are likely to have soon…but i don’t see that anywhere on the horizon.

As for the Darwin connection, that was more than weak but I’m not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I know many very intelligent people that are quite religious but it is quite common for very intelligent people to have accompanying cognitive anomalies.

While I’m at it, what is with you militant creationists and your attachment to the dogma in your bibles. As there is no plausible explanation for nothing from nothing the door for some kind of design is still open. However, whenever even the hint of the possibility of any kind of design anywhere of any varying significance is mentioned, i see so many go right to the bearded man making the world in 7 days etc. Loosen up, relax a little and stop double fist clutching your bibles ok. You’ll be less stressed and live longer.

There can be no purely capitalist society to be proud of. A certain amount of collectivism and regulation will always be required. My inclination is to always er on the side of of free markets though. Just a freedom junkie i guess.

Just to stifle this early cause I’m so tired of it..if u don’t like my gramma or spelling or what have you i don’t care. Silly commies get so anal sometimes.

  19. LMAO, I cant do anything else but laugh.  WHat a terrible piece of shit.

  20. Islamic propaganda.

  21. Islamic propaganda.

  22. at  time 6:00 the perpetrator of this piece of crapology is named, and he is non other than “Harun Yahya” whose real name is Adnan Oktar. A well known idiot of islamic creationism-Anti Evolution  branch of idiocy.
Don’t watse your time ; it is not only wrong in its claims concerning evolution, the so called “documentary” is wrong on most of its historical facts as well as almost all of its assumption. Watch something else to get informed about the attrocities of communists. This is a waste of time.

  23. There should be a counterpoint documentary on the murderous destruction of capitalism, too.  Then we should have one about Keynesian economics and why it came about.

  25. This is really funny shit. I don’t mind this piece of shit, for what its worth. As a historical materialist myself; and a strong believer in the teachings of Marx and Darwin, I found it quite interesting to hear anti communist propoganda presented so terribly. Borders on satire; which is my favourite comedy.

    • ANY anti-communist propaganda is to be fallen down on the knees and worshipped. All Communism does is to create an Elite (read Animal Farm) and sell off the rest of us to the Glue Factory

  26. I feel as if the soundtrack cheapens the seriousness of the situation.

  37. Interesting duality you people have when it comes to “free speech”.
You support the site keeping all the documentaries you like or agree with, but the second one pops up you find don’t line up with your narrow views, you scream to have it pulled.
Hypocrites. The whole lot of you.

    • Totally agree, anon.  As much as I think this is a terrible doc, with uninformed bias, I would never think of requesting this be taken down.  The dissent many people call for is the very dissent this document advocates!

  48. Religious rant posing as a documentary, not at all objective in presentation of “facts”. Only starts with the seriously slanted views a bit into the film. Has the music from the original predator jungle hunting scene though 🙂

  49. This is just another camouflaged opinion piece. It would be nice of http://www.documentaryheaven.com would get rid of these fake-documentaries.

    • I don’t agree with the documentary but it gives me a chance to see what others are thinking and believing.  Education is learning about all topics even distasteful ones.  There are a lot of people who believe this stuff.  If I am to refute these beliefs I have to know what I’m talking about.  More to the point, I have to know that it exists.

  50. The topic is great, but taking cheap shots at Darwin is distasteful, and disrespectful to the victims of communism.
