For thousands of years the holy lands of the Middle East have run with blood. Here the scars of battle fought between three of the great religions of the world are etched into the earth.

But the deepest wound was made by a war between Christians and Muslims, that began in the 11th century and fought for 200 years. At stake: A tiny strip of land just a few hundred miles long, but with the greatest prize, Jeruzalem. Now this holy war’s past is a legend, but there were those who saw it with their own eyes.

Great chronicles from two different worlds, Christian and Muslim, who wrote of great deeds, great battles, great warriors and men who would lay down their lives for their god. This was the collision of two great faiths, the clash between the crescent and the cross. This is a documentary about the crusades.

This may have been interesting but I could not stand to the commentary: the man’s voice is almost unlistenable … it’s so bad I stopped wathcing after 5 minutes.

Agree re. the voice over, it was sooooooooo grating. It was worse than listening to nails dragged down a blackboard. Makes me wonder if the actor had tried to sound as annoying as possible.

Huh? The voice just sounds like James Earl Jones to me. I don’t get what everyone finds so annoying about it… I’ve only listened to the first two minutes, but I don’t get what everyone else is talking about. Am I watching the same documentary?

Im in New Zealand & the accent- voice or wateva is dam normal, not unusual or abnormal in anyway. Reading the sheeplike comments re. dislike of voice I find kinda… pathetic & abit embarrassing to see such weak-minded followers in the human race agreeing with pretty much bloody nonsense- get some originality, dare to be bloody different grow some balls, etc bloody etc- wow

So, Let me see. We have 44 votes cast and an average score of 4.7 out of 10. Since I see so many people giving out about the narrators voice, I assume that’s where the negative marking came from. Therefore I’m guessing the documentary must actually be good. I think I’ll watch it.
