The New Rulers of The World

A documentary film by John Pilger

‘Global economy’ is a modern Orwellian term. On the surface, it is instant financial trading, mobile phones, McDonald’s, Starbucks, holidays booked on the net. Beneath this gloss, it is the globalisation of poverty, a world where most human beings never make a phone call and live on less than two dollars a day, where 6,000 children die every day from diarrhea because most have no access to clean water.

  1. America created the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to serve it’s own interests. America has a vested interest in keeping Indonesia poor. GOD forbid if these poor souls were given free education and healthcare, and if they revolted against western aid. No the west will not let this happen. Keep them poor and in never ending debt so the west can have economic slaves at their finger tips.

  2. Now i’m not good in the places you are obtaining your own facts, yet beneficial issue. We has to expend a long time learning far more and also comprehending a lot more. Thank you wonderful data I became seeking these details for my assignment.

  3. I’ll never complain about my job again and I’ll feel fortunate that I don’t live and work in a third world country making products for Walmart. Althought our political leaders are way overpaid for the little work that they do for the welfare of our country, at least the workers do receive a fair wage and the working conditions are monitored and regulated to a fair degree. We have no signs of revolution here yet, even though we seem intent on importing them into our country through our “Open Door Immigration Policies”…how dumb is that!!!…Time to smarten up, eh!

    • You mean open door trade/import policy with regards to products… immigration has to do with people; this documentary is about products being sold here from these less fortunate places on earth…. of which; if you shop at any of these places; its no different than enabling a heroin addict by driving the addict to their dope-spot to buy product. Only if you have gotten yourself out of the grid, then you will be able to cast the first stone; until full boycott nobody really has anything to say for they are the enablers; not the factories…. no demand = no supply…..

  4. Excellent documentary..should be required reading in every U.S. class room before they abolish free speech.
If you haven’t contacted your Senator, your not paying attention…

  5. No more talk. ACTION! No more voter apathy. Elect officials who will pardon third world debt.

  6. Hopefully one day everyone will wake up & say that enough is enough, this shit his gone on for far too long & there will be big changes in the world. People can only take so much before they eventually snap & there will be a lot of unrest in the world. We need to change the whole system of how the world is run, the way it is run now is not working. This shit has got to go.
