The UK’s Young Reoffenders

As of 2014 nearly three quarters of young offenders in the UK will reoffend within 12 months of their release from custody. These figures seem to be rising year on year, however the number of first time offenders is decreasing yearly which is creating somewhat of a vacuum where hardcore reoffenders are becoming locked into a cycle of crime, jail, probation and crime again. This documentary released by VICE follows a gang of such young reoffenders from Abingdon, Oxfordshire who seem to have nothing better to do than get themselves into trouble.

  1. All that energy wasted, maybe they should bring back conscription then there’d be many more hard-nuts around to sort youngsters like this out. They’d just be cops.

  2. This is what you get when you give people fuck-all to lose.
