We Love Cigarettes

A love of nicotine unites all peoples across the globe, regardless of colour, wealth or creed.
Where religion and politics have failed tobacco has succeeded, but at what cost?
For over 50 years people have been knowingly paying for the pleasure of tobacco with their lives, making man’s fatal tryst with the cigarette one of the strangest love affairs ever.
But as smoking bans in the US and Europe abound, what is happening in poorer nations?
Their love affair is still in its first flush – one third of the world’s cigarettes are smoked in China alone.
And globally the tobacco industry is still worth $430 billion and going strong.

  1. “We Love Pleasure” would be more like it. Cigarettes are nothing more than a lethal nicotine delivery system that unnaturally alters brain chemistry that produces Pleasure. We are more addicted to pleasure than cigarettes

  2. I have been off of nicotine for a month, after using the patch to step down off it. The habit/behavior still lingers in my mind but getting off tobacco and nicotine is the best thing I’ve done in a long time.

  3. smoking is not addictive. it’s a behavior, and you can’t break a behavior. nicotine is out of your system in 24 hours, it’s the behavior of smoking that’s difficult. You can only replace it with another behavior, and gum doesn’t fucking cut it. I smoke 1/2 a pack a day and have been smoking off and on since I was 9. I quit for an ex for 5 years no problem…I replaced smoking with taking walks. In the end I know the risks but it’s my fucking body, my fucking health. Ban me from smoking? Fuck you. Second hand smoke has never been proved to be dangerous, the only study that cited it was by the American EPA, and the guy who wrote it made it up, and admits is as such on Penn & Teller’s “Bullshit!”

    •  why heroin cocain and weed isnt legal. i would like to take them. its my health and  my body.

    • You are wrong my friend, nicotine IS addictive. You are lying to yourself if you think smoking is a behaviour that cannot be broken, perhaps justifying your inability to quit. And the reason that second hand smoke is said to be worse that that inhaled by the smoker is the fact that when cigarette smoke breaks down in the air, as it does in a closed room or a poorly ventilated vehicle, it produces a highly carcinogenic “byproduct” that is much more toxic than the original tobacco smoke itself. Check your facts and don’t believe everything you hear.

    • You are wrong.

    • Agreed

  5. What I thought would be a fair and unbiased documentary about smoking in cultures around the world turned out to be typical anti-smoking propaganda. I’ve already seen enough videos of why I shouldn’t smoke and this was redundant.
