  1. yep not gonna watch another american documentary, so filled with patriotism (“american propaganda”) that it kills the viewing experience. I’ll go watch instead The World At Wars or Apocalypse: the second world war.

  2. What an honor it must have been, too lived among such giants as Roosevelt and Churchill. Great leaders such as them the world has lost entire.

  3. Great informative documentary. Although, as an outsider (not from any of the “allied” countries) I was disappointed at the lack of mention of the famous battles other armies (both axis and allies) went through (eg. the british army’s defeat in singapore at the hand of the japanese in a brutal battle)

All in all, I think they covered a good segment of the war, but it still remains a tiny fraction.

Also, I have to say, I really did not like the “America – Fuck Yeah!” attitude of the documentary. It could have been a lot more neutral and professional.

  4. The anti-war message in the end was pathetic and unnecessary. It is very disappointing and frustrating that they made such an excellent documentary and then just flushed it down the toilet in the end. Is that hard to make an impartial ending?

  5. Excellent,Great 10-part Documentary.. Semper Fi to all my fellow Marines and Servicemen and Women,,, And GOD BLESS AMERICA

  6. I felt so proud to be an American that I considered joining the military right now. Then it played the “Flag Day Radio Speech” by FDR and I remember how hypocritical American and her leaders were/are. Talks of freedom, brotherhood and liberation of the oppressed are used as propaganda to gain support for the war when US was still segregated.

  8. that’s funny Andy

  9. Jesus Christ Andy.

they didn’t have HD cameras in WW2? What are you stupid?

They had lets say a 35mm film or whatever. The resolution on that is much higher than HD.

In any case, your “HD” is compressed digital video. Ah I don’t care – just ask around.

  10. Surely they didn’t have HD cameras in WW2… oh it’s a history channel “HD” cash-in…
