Nicki Minaj: My Time Again

This 40 minute MTV special is all about Nicki Minaj, and gives you an insight into her everyday life, from the effort that goes into filming her music videos and preforming live, to the rehearsals in preparation for preforming at the VMA’s. The film also follows Nicki as she visits her hometown, Southside Jamaica, Queens and recounts memories of what it was like to grow up in a one-room basement apartment with her family, including the pain still felt from her father burning down the family home.

  1. I remember catching this MTV special years ago, and the Queens footage stuck with me more than the performances. Watching her walk through Southside Jamaica and talk about that one-room basement apartment makes the VMA rehearsals feel like a different world entirely. It’s a short watch at 40 minutes, but it covers a lot of ground. I was actually browsing AI Tools Discovery and Launchpad earlier and it got me thinking about how much of this kind of behind-the-scenes footage now ends up buried in algorithm feeds instead of proper docs. Anyway, worth a look if you like artist profiles that go past the surface. The commenters above seem split on her, but the film itself stays pretty even-handed.

  2. It sounds like this MTV special offers a fascinating glimpse into Nicki Minaj’s life, showcasing her hard work, dedication, and personal craft games journey.

  3. Idk what to think of this chic, I think I have love/hate thing goin on here because when she talks I just wanna punch her but she’s a helluva performer, gotta give credit where credit is due…. She sounds fake when she talks. Like it’s forced for her to be nice… Oh well, good documentary anyway
