The documentary was filmed over the course of a year and follows several former members of the Amish community as they look back on their decisions to leave the only life they knew and one of the most closed off and tightly knit communities in America. Throughout we discover that these ex-Amish now find themselves struggling to understand modern life. With interviews from remaining loyal members of the Amish community they explain how the importance of obedience and the strong ties bind their communities together and the pain endured when loved ones leave is revealed.

Are they growing tobacco?!
I’d still do her.
Look at all that rolling green grass and fresh air. That’s a dream come true for me. Instead of traffic congestion giving me asthma, an accident or almost an accident every five minutes, rude, inconsiderate drivers, people yelling at bad drivers cussing them out, cussing out somebody everyday about this or that, everybody’s in a rush to get no where, dog eat dog. No wonder the man couldn’t wait to get back. No place like home. But one to make, we can’t say who is or isn’t going to hell. Only a person’s heart will tell and the fruit they produce. Who knows by leaving they may be saving somebody and spreading God’s word to people who really need. They may just be the example we need in today’s world.
A lot of modern appliances to be Amish.
You are not missing out on anything. It’s good to live in a wholesome environment. Once they leave and come to the cities you will go through some very bad changes. Lack of respect, lewdness, lack of values. And people these days people don’t draw the line. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Bless those desperately trying to uphold wholesome values. And tv is nothing but sick demon possessed mess that gets worse and worse. Everything’s gross, everybody’s eyes are red or green, teeth and fangs hanging out of everybody’s mouths. Don’t even talk about the drug scene. Stay wholesome Stay home.
