An unforgettable journey into the hidden lives of China’s forgotten Zen hermit tradition. “Amongst White Clouds” is a special look at the lives of zealot students, gaunt as-
cetics and wise masters living in isolated hermitages dotting the peaks and valleys of China’s Zhongnan Mountain range.
An excellent movie, by a filmmaker who brings rare authority. How rare to see a Westerner invest the time and effort actually to become fluent in another language; fluent enough to study under these hermits and make a movie about them!
The hermits, men and women of various ages, are depicted as individuals with personalities and pasts, and their practice as worthwhile.
A really fine document.

I would have to agree with you. This is also such a resounding message. Every SeekerĀ“s dream is become this aware. Mmmm. There was this glowing beauty in the face of the master at the end of this film. His light was intense and eyes filled with a love not from here.
Even my ego envies their nonexistence.
