Athene’s Theory of Everything

Chiren Boumaaza, aka Athene, is an extravagant Internet celebrity, with over 240 million upload views, and a professional gamer.

If you haven’t heard of him, he’s a record holder in World of Warcraft and online poker, and plays the main character in a series of videos on a popular YouTube channel with well over 340,000 subscribers.

Athene is known for crashing gaming servers, with the aid of his massive army of followers, who just love to be part of the controversy and trouble Athene is so well known for.

Over the past year, we haven’t heard much from him, and it seemed as though he had fallen off the grid.

Recently Chiren broke his silence, and announced that his disappearance was due to being very busy, conducting new research in the fields of quantum mechanics, general and special relativity, and neuroscience.

  1. IT’S A TRAP!

Enjoy…credibility=0 after watching him struggle through questions about his own research.

  3. haaaa, The bible thumpers won’t like this video. Very interesting

    • In fact you lost the point of the video (ref: 48:39) “There is no such a thing as the free choice while being emotionally attached to a belief system”.. In other words: Without belief system in place you are under illusion of free choice. Fact is your belief is the only choice, since it is in essence of the Law. So Christ was and is and will be (without illusion of time) the Law itself. IC XC – NI KA ^j^

  4. Why did I expect him to burst into the “Chocolate Rain” song at any time.

  5. What a delightful example of “Irony” is made by the forth commentator. These two guys are chewing off their own legs (or each others).
A brilliant film of extremely difficult subjects, explained, yes, even for the benefit of those with an IQ of less than 100, and children, and housewives, and bankers and corporate tycoons and world leaders if necessary. EVERYBODY as the right to this knowledege.
For me, however, I was a little disappointed when in the credit I noted the banner of http://www.athenism.net and felt that the mere flouting of such a thinly veiled play on words detracted somewhat from the intention to disimpassion thinking from emotion. It would create in those most likely gain from the ideas purported, the very endorphins and hence resistance to those ideas that are described by the movie. I would certainly have felt my hackles rise if I were in that category.
Otherwise, with him all the way.
I have long held similar beliefs in that we are all as intimately connected to our environment in its most far reaching extents. I thus subscribe to the view that it is THIS “huge pulsating brain the size of the universe” that IS the entity or substance continually sort after and often called “god” and it is indeed THIS of which we are all part and which is part of us all. And it is this to which we ARE ultimately responsible to and responsible for. I cannot therefore call myself and “Atheist” in the true sense of the word and would not wish to be thus categorised. I suppose I would be happy with “generisist”.
I for one hope and do believe that just as the speed of light can never be achieved, since it is fundamental to the meaning of Cnow then so will it be impossible to gain a total understanding of the complexities of the universe. We are on a continuous curve of increasing complexity/understanding and should complete understanding ever be achieved, we would be reached the extremity of the two dimensional time plane. Similarly catastrophic events would occur as those imagined should the speed of light be matched – or the edge of the known world finally be reached (?)
In addition, if my humble understandings bare any resemblance to the fact, then it will be a very confusing time, when a good proportion of this “god” inevitably falls into the realm of the up-coming “quantum computer”.
Will god get its first brain implant created by man?
Will this be a centralised “big brother” or a distributed embedded prosthetic?
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

  6. This is pretty much a petty plagiarism. And not a good one also. Some of the basic assumptions are wrong ergo the whole “documentary” i worth nothing. It does not unify anything and is highly possible that this Athene person is just looking for plain attention nothing more. Like crying for help with some knowledge. Because this guy actually have some information. Gratulations for trying though, brave thing and don’t stop trying.

  7. I realize that was something important that he told, but I did not realize that over what he told.

  8. What a boring movie I’ve ever seen.

  9. brilliant. end of story. never seen ratings here divert so much from my experience.

  10. This basically covers introduction to psychology 101, not much else however.

Certainly not the theory of everything!

More like a recap of what people know, written by athene, a gamer.

  11. Very interesting Doc. Yet perhaps Athene and the creator of the video could have done more if they had a little wider research. In the Doc. it is boldly assumed that consciousness resides in the brain, which is a belief in itself, and this is not a certainty by any means in the scientific or spiritual world of thought. There are some interesting studies of near-death and clinical death experiences, where by the brain was dead, zero activity and individuals still experienced awareness and could recall events very clearly. So perhaps they could look into that, and extend their questions – is the brain a mega tool for consciousness to express itself? What force caused the brain to develop in evolution? Why does evolution occur in itself?

  12. Really enjoyed this. If you don’t understand the material, don’t bash it. Clearly you didn’t get past the part where the brain rejects ideas that don’t fit its current paradigm. An intelligent person can consider an idea without believing in it, so it’s not to say that the “Theory of Everything” actually answers everything, but rather questions everything, and is open to the possibilities.

Embedded in science is philosophy, made only available with eyes to see. All this documentary does is provide the perspective of seeing all as connected, through mathematics, physics, and neuroscience.

Our concept of reality is being challenged. For all that we know to exist, only exists through interaction (a force which cannot be seen or measured without some reference point). Based on this understanding, we become more self-aware, and awareness (or consciousness) is not strictly a metaphysical or spiritual idea, but inherent in all aspects of reality.

“The more self-aware we become, the more conscious our actions.” I see that as the beginning of proving morality through scientific means, and it’s becoming clear to me that for humanity to survive as both and individual and a social entity, the individual must recognize the consequences their actions may have on society, and in turn, reflect back onto the individual.

  13. “ATHENE’S THEORY OF EVERYTHING”. WOW, what a title. I’ve heard some stories about this guy and I must say, he is the Gandhi of gamers and that’s it. Title itself is completely repellent. Only his followers would buy this crap.

  14. I haven’t felt so many A-HAs since the documentary “What The Bleep Do We Know”. Watching this requires max attention. Have to go through it several times. Massive thanks to whoever is behind this! 🙂

  15. I dont agree with the first two comments, i doubt they even watched the full clip, the object of this documentary is to spark rational thinking and decision making through the understanding of basic neuroscience.

  16. One of the better docs i have seen in a while. very well thought out and presented. holds alot of truth and the first 2 comments may be the result of either ignorance or religion.

  17. The first two to leave comments don’t see the irony of their posts after watching the doco? Strange.

Take this video for what it is, a thought starter. It’s interesting and worth a view, perhaps multiple times to fully understand the ideas put forth.

  18. The 2 people above me have no clue about what they are talking about. Athene isn’t attempting to prove something scientifically, he is simply proposing a new perspective in which physics and neuroscience are seen as tangent entities, and not completely irrelevant to each other.

“Garbage Science”? He didn’t do any real science in the video, genius.

While we definitively need more evidence for what he is suggesting, I think the idea is quite interesting, and that is what the documentary was meant for, to spark interest in the two fields for his mainly “gamer” audience. And that for me is a success.

The two dunces on top either couldn’t understand what the purpose or the message of the documentary was, or are simply trolls.

  19. Agree with Galantir, Athene is a well known internet troll, and this is garbage science at its best. At least it didn’t get posted on the science section.

  20. Never seen such a bad documentary in my life. Just repeating other peoples stuff in a monotone way and with hugely anoying music and video. Just a try to get some views of people with an IQ below 100.
