Back of the Busk

An online mini-series about street/subway performers who busk in New York City.

New York City is one of the few metropolis’ in the world that supports buskers and is known as a “Busker Haven” when it comes to the audience, reach, and vibe that the city provides. Buskers in NYC receive a tremendous amount of love and support that other cities don’t offer. The city, being a melting pot of different cultures and races, offers great diversity in the busking acts that are performed there. Keeping all of this in mind, we decided to film buskers that really have a zing in one way or the other and showcase their talent to the world.

It’s been a wonderful journey so far and we’ve filmed over 25 buskers. Season 1 will showcase 21 performers, all of which busk primarily in NYC. If there’s an act or performance you haven’t thought about, be prepared to watch it here.

  1. I really enjoyed this series of mini-documentaries. I live in Washington, DC where there are street performers in the subway stations. We rarely get an opportunity to learn or even imagine what their stories might truly be. Thanks for uploading.
