Carl Cox is one of the all time greats when it comes to the history of house and techno, for about 40 years now he has been one of the most recognisable figures on the scene. Well known throughout the world for his toothy grin and volumes of energy, but nowhere more so than the Spanish island of Ibiza.
It was in Ibiza that Cox held his record-breaking residency for the nightclub known as Space, whilst playing here he packed the floors each summer for a whopping 15 years. Sadly in September 2016, Space wrapped things up and closed for good. This marked the end of an era, and Ibiza lost one of it’s most beloved venues at a time when the flashy VIP culture looms large over the scene.
In association with British television station Channel 4, website Resident Advisor follows Cox through out his 2016 season in Ibiza which stretched from June to September. We hear from many legends and get a great behind the scenes glimpse into the world of clubbing whilst also learning of its rich history.
