Diana: In Her Own Words is a film produced by Channel 4 which was released to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of the Princess of Wales, Diana. Using an incredible amount of archived footage and being narrated by recordings of Diana herself, the recordings themselves were taken from conversations she had with a voice coach in 1992 and 1993.
This film gives great insight into her world as we explore her life from the very beginning right up to her tragic passing. When it was realised that Channel 4 were making such a documentary many who were close to her, including her own brother, Earl Spencer had urged the TV station not to broadcast the tapes as they felt it would cause distress to her children.
Nevertheless the documentary drew a mixed reaction from critics, as well as giving Channel 4 their largest overnight ratings for over a year.
