Joaquín Guzmán, better known as El Chapo or Shorty is officially the worlds most powerful drug trafficker. From rags to riches in less than a decade, he managed to turn a startup operation into an international criminal empire.

El Chapo has been described as “the Osama Bin Laden of drug trafficking”, but he has proven to be more elusive than Bin Laden. He was captured in the 90’s but managed to escape 8 years later. Authorities from both the United States and Mexico have been trying to catch him and on the 22nd of February of 2014 they did just that, but on the 11th of July 2015 he managed to escape from a maximum prison for the second time and still remains on the run.
