Ethos, a powerful new documentary hosted by Woody Harrelson, is an investigation into the flaws in our systems, and the mechanisms that work against democracy, our environment and the the common good.

With a stunning depth of research and breadth of analysis, this film delves deep into the inter-connected worlds of Politics, Multi-National Corporations and the Media.

Most of us have wondered at some point how we have arrived at a situation where democracy is touted as having created an equal society when all we see is injustice and corruption.

Politicians openly deceive the public with the support of major corporations and the mainstream media. Wars are waged, the environment is destroyed and inequality is on the rise.

But what is the source of these institutional mechanisms which – when we scratch the surface – are so clearly anti-democratic, so contradictory to the values we hold in common and yet so firmly embedded that they seem beyond discussion?

Ethos opens a Pandora’s box that has it’s roots in the cross-roads where capitalism-meets-democracy, implicates every power-elite puts profit before people and finally offers a solution whereby you – the viewer – can regain control using the one thing they do care about – your cash.

  1. This is poor copy of this important documentary, I found a higher quality copy here:

  2. The problem discussed is really three-fold. Firstly the wealthiest collection of people on the planet are profiting from polluting the environment and therefore use that money and power to slow down change, protect their interests and invest in ways to complicate the debate through control of various media outlets. (Fox News is a prime suspect)
Secondly, the scope of the problem is so complex, so far-reaching, and requiring radical change on the part of nearly everybody to alter their lifestyle and habits, that many people become so overloaded, overwhelmed and feel hopeless that they just push the issues to the side, particularly when world leaders (like Donald Trump won’t even acknowledge the problem).
Thirdly, and most threatening is the American political-military-industrial-complex, which is solely concerned with advancing and bettering it’s own position regardless of lives lost and nations upheaved.
All this done in the name of protecting ‘Freedom’ and ‘Democracy’. Yeah right.
One caveat is the attack on free speech by fanatical dogmatic feminists seeking out new enemies to keep the ideology alive, namely charging every man with being a potential violent sex abuser.
No one is allowed to question feminism and its role without being labelled a ‘misogynist’ – the same goes for any discourse in which Israeli foreign policy influence – question that and you’re a nazi or anti-semite.
I’m disgusted with the state of affairs, and people are bewildered to learn that I’m a philosophical pessimist.

  3. The documentary, ETHOS has “been removed by the user”???…I thought I was the ‘user’. Not in time however, I already watched it and wanted to show it to my Psych. class but, if you’ve seen it, you’ll understand why it has been censored. But where does docheaven weigh in on this? RSVP.

  4. This is all Americans ever do; watch movies and discuss. You are well known for taking no action. You deserve nothing less than what you get.

    • Who the fuck are you fucktard? LoL. Old as hell comment but it pissed me off enough to put my two cents in.

    • on behalf of the Detroit Hacktivist Collect.. come see the warehouses of collaborated cryptoanalysist’ who dedicate 50 hours a week fighting back and are cohesively teaching the teenagers who will soon face the same or even larger programs/problems hoow to cope with these issues as well as teach and create access to an extensive defense apparatus and provide an experienced network of both support and comfort. So FUCK YOU & anyone who thinks our citizens are all talk. Youre a simple minded sheep in a world of wolves bitch. Now go back to the couch where your dumbass flock belongs.

    • A decent paying job, great medical care, and a buffer of oceans between my family and whatever barbarian tribe you come from? Mmm, yeah, I’ll take it.

Trust me, people are waking up here in HUGE numbers, finally. Blood will flow before it’s over. The Zionists will be sent back to the dessert, defenseless, and at the mercy of the Arabs. I wouldn’t wanna be a Zionist about now.

    • yeah every single american that was born in america is exactly the same. none of us do anything. (roll eyes) i’m sure whatever country you come from is well known for producing dickheads.

  5. Cheers Woody Harrelson.

  6. Parts of this documentary comes from “The Corporation” another documentary about the world businesses.

  7. This is a good place to start making  big changes for all of us.

  8. I think this was a good documentary but the Zeitgeist was allot more effective for me. It may be though that I saw the Zeitgeist movie first. I would recommend watching that if you have not and you want more information. In this video they actually took a part from the first Zeitgeist and incorporated into this.

  9. I think this actualy is a very important documentary because it’s this one that can actually reach the masses. As Gordon commented, the information presented is relatively shallow. But that’s seen from the eyes of people who are already well informed by watching other documentaries about the subjects presented in this one.

Keep in mind, that the majority of the people never watch documentaries and don’t go on the internet to look for the type of information presented here.
This documentary would be a great start for people who are not in the know yet. Get this movie on dvd for instance and have your parents and other people watch it. This movie would definitely be a better start for them, than for instance the Zeitgeist movies.

  10. “twice oscar nominated”
    big fucking deal

  11. some good information but still fairly shallow and narrow minded, if you make it too the end the final message is whats truly important.
