Malcolm in the Middle was a staple in my house growing up. Hearing Linwood Boomer explain the origins of the series really highlighted how groundbreaking their single-camera, no-laugh-track approach was back then. I actually threw this special on last Sunday while tackling some mundane household chores. I was trying to sort out a frustrating billing issue for my dad’s local paper and had to track down a globe gazette phone number before I could finally sit down and enjoy the rest of the interviews.
