The Murder of Jill Dando

Jill Dando born 1961 was an English journalist, she was one of Britians most well known television presenters having won BBC’s Personality of the Year award in 1997. At the time of her death (1999), she was the presenter of the BBC programme Crimewatch.

At the pinnacle of her career when she was mercilessly gunned down outside her house in Fulham, London. Her killer left the scene without a trace and this cold blooded killing sent shockwaves through the country. An entire nation grieved for the loss of Jill Dando.

A local man named Barry George, was later convicted and jailed for her murder but was later acquitted on appeal. A Yugoslav terrorist connection was initially dismissed by police, but has since acquired more credence. The case to this day remains open.
