Make me normal, is a documentary that follows several children and teenagers with Autism and Aspergers syndrome all of whom attend a special school in the UK. Its an eye opening glimpse into the world of those who have such conditions and how they perceive the world around them.

  1. Aaaaanybody get the feeling that these people are being institutionalised? All this “you don’t understand because of autism”. I was diagnosed with Asperger’s at 8, now 24, everyone is surprised when I tell them. A bit ‘mental’, but not maladjusted, not unempathetic, not crazy, not wrong.
    I think there’s a real danger here in the way they’re taught to hate their condition, to feel guilty about it. I feel immensely lucky that my interest was Art, and that my parents supported it.

    As soon as they hit 14, just give them some Ecstasy. They’re unlikely to have empathetic problems after that. Did wonders for me. 🙂
