Owned & Operated is a mosaic of the world through the lens of the internet. Showing our lives as consumers, under the thumbs of privileged individuals and their methods of control. But the world is awakening, and the experience is something outside the normal rules of social interaction, causing excitement in those who are not served by the current system… and fear in those who are pampered by it.
This documentary attempts to present these events using the video, audio and written content uploaded to the internet by the collective human consciousness comprised of every individual participant.

With our mouths we hail socialism and love but with our deeds we show how we realy are: greedy capitalist by nature
The ending made me realize the irony that the USA, the leader of the free world has been preventing us from going forth and restricting freedom.
I am 66 years old and I am really pissed off at what the so called authorities have done to my world. I have spent my greatest efforts in fighting against the anti humanity forces that control our society and am extremely grateful for this message of hope. It has given me new strength to continue the struggle just when I needed it most. It is such a wonderful feeling to be reminded that I am not alone in the struggle.
Great ducumentary, my hopes are that it will reach the people that need to see it the most.Unfortunatly those folks are watching celebrity tv or sports, while the powers that be are chipping away at our democracy.
Good documentary. However a couple of points, Fight Club film excerpts are probably not the best choice. This is a pro-capitalist film that insinuates people have a natural inclination towards violence. It allows people to deal with their anti-capitalist feelings before reinforcing them with the pro-capitalist message that capitalism is a necessary evil because the only alternative is ultra-authoritarian communism.
Second point, the Zeitgeist Movement, despite its elevated status here, does not have the best answers or most factual answers, *they just have the best documentaries*. This is important and further illustrates the power of media, corporate or otherwise. The Zeitgeist Movies raise some excellent points, some fair ones and some pretty poor ones. The Venus Project if enacted in the way its creator would like it to be, completely doing away with politics would result in a scientific dictatorship. IMO removing all aspects of humanity from political decision making would not be a smart move.
What we need is to look at all the alternatives to the current system (Libertarian Socialism, Zeitgeist Movement etc) and see if we can take aspects of the best ones and use them to create a new one. Following one ideology like a religion will not get us anywhere or save the planet, it will just result in division and probably, eventually bloodshed.
Great documentary. Its time.
