Planet of the Humans

Planet of the Humans is the latest documentary from filmmaker Michael Moore. It was released on the eve of Earth Day, 2020, and takes direct aim at the supposed hypocrisy found within the green movement. Moore states that we are losing the battle to stop climate change here on Earth because we are following political leaders who have chosen to take us down the wrong road. Alleging that they have sold out the green movement to the wealthy interests and corporate America.

The film is daring to say what no one else will on Earth Day and calls for us to wake up to the reality that we are apparently afraid to face. That being, whilst in the middle of a self-created extinction event, the environmental movement is deciding to push for techno-fixes and band-aids. In the opening scenes, we see director Jeff Gibbs, challenge companies who are selling electric cars with the question “where does the power charging the cars come from, and is it green?”. Making the point that whilst the car is electric, the power is still generated mostly by the burning of fossil fuels.

Gibbs warns that no amount of batteries are going to save us. This argument seems to have caused quite a stir within the scientific and green communities, stating that it is riddled with misinformation. The director of Gasland, Josh Fox, has even gone as far as urging the removal of the “shockingly misleading and absurd” film for making false claims about renewable energy.

Here at Documentary Heaven, we encourage healthy debate and are choosing not to censor this film but rather leave it to you to make your own mind up on the matter.

  3. Film removed from YouTube the last couple of days due to a copyright complaint but a replacement video was found and the documentary is back online! Enjoy 🙂

  4. A must watch…best yet , this really exposes the truth and the way we have all been conned, by the well meaning , but totally misinformed GREEN INDUSTRIE believers ,many subjects exposed here what was what many ,minimalists always thought all along, it’s all BS,and were always shouted down by the extreme green advocates ….really the only problem is the planet is chronically overpopulated and totally unsustainable and the tipping point has already passed a long time ago ! sad really…

  5. Michael Moore always finds something to complain about, but never really tries to look for a solution. Hopefully his next film will be about how useless his career has been.

  6. Wow, what a sobering documentary. I’m not one who has invested much cognitive effort into environmental issues, but this has changed the way I think about “Green Energy” as well as everything that us humans do here on Earth.
