Promises

Several Jewish and Palestinian children are followed for three years and put in touch with each other, in this alternative look at the Jewish-Palestinian conflict. The three filmmakers followed a group of seven local children between 1995 and 1998. They all have a totally different background. These seven children tell their own story about growing up in Jerusalem. Through this portrait of their generation, we see how deep rooted and almost insoluble the problems of the Middle East have become. When the protagonists speak out in an epilogue a couple of years later, it becomes apparent that all have lost their childlike innocence.

  1. It not ready

  2. Those Palestinian kids are such losers and creeps I would never let them in my clique for sure

    • LMAO. What a ridiculous thing to say. I seriously laughed so hard reading what you wrote. I’m not Palestinian or anything like that, in fact I come from Australia but it’s shocking that a person can watch that and say something like you did. I seriously hope you wake up to yourself. But if you don’t, that’s ok. An ignoramus like you provides much comic relief for those of us with a brain.

  4. I commend you for doing a programme showing the human side of this ongoing conflict….kids are kids. But as most media reports I felt the bias all the way through. Judea/Sumaria may be disputed land but not occupied…their are amazing wealthy people living in these area with wonderful shopping centres etc but we only saw those poverty stricken areas with IDF soldiers standing by. The nation of Israel is now…after giving up areas for peace…only 1% of the land mass of the middle east. You did not show any jewish refugees..only check points and the inconvenience this causes the arabs….you did not show the suffering of jews from bombings in such places as Sderot etc…but I did appreciate your efforts of trying to show both sides.
    Shalom.

  6. Wow! Very touching. It would be interesting to interview those same children today, and to see if they would be willing to meet again.

For me, this programme just highlighted how important it is that a state remains secular. When religion becomes involved, someone will always be excluded or villified.
