The Rise and Fall of Nokia

Nokia is a Finnish multinational company, originally founded in 1865 as a pulp mill the company became famous for its rubber products. In the 1970’s Nokia expanded its operations into mobile phones and quickly became the global market leader but in 2013 Nokia had pulled out of the mobile phone business.

At one point Nokia’s annual budget was larger than that of the government of Finland, so how was it they fell from such heights? It appears that global domination cost the company its pioneering spirit and quantity gradually took over from quality.

The Rise and Fall of Nokia is a wry morality tale for our times, told by those that lived and worked through the rollercoaster years in a company that dominated a nation.
