yes he’s a dj. he does what 90% of electronic artists do today, switch from track to track with a cdj/mixer setup. with electronic music, it’s less about physically playing every note you hear but shaping a full hour long experience with the music you choose.
basically he’s using glorified walkmans to arrange a mixtape in front of you. the real impressive shit here is syncing lights and video to a show that has no setlist, the artist can play literally anything and these guys have to figure out what to do on a dime.
