homie12, your comment is nothing but pure drivel. nearly all predictions by einstein have been proven since 1912, and the ones that have not been proven by direct observation, have basis in universally accepted mathematical theory. therefore, your assertions make no sense whatsoever. I am assuming that “comets are not ice but are electrically equalitzing” is some misguided attempt for you to prove your idiotic assertions. What really happens is comets (made up of rock, water ice, and various gases to include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, and ammonia {not to mention organic compounds including amino acids}) become ionized due to the photoelectric effect, produced by the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation. Once a comet enters the Solar System, the Sun’s radiation basically vaporizes these volatile materials, and the comet forms a “coma”, basically an atmosphere. Once this atmosphere is ionized it produces a “tail”, which in some cases can extend up to one astronomical unit or 150 million km. The ion tail attains a net positive electrical charge which creates a “magnetosphere” around the comet. I could go on and on about how terribly inaccurate your account of comets are, but I rather move on to the big bright thing in the sky, you know, the Sun.
The core of the sun is estimated to range from the center to about 25% of the total size. It has an estimated density of 150g/cm^3. The core temperature is around 15.7 MILLION KELVIN! 99% of the Sun’s thermal energy is produced in the core out to about 24% of radius, around 30% fusion stops (fusion being the process by which the Sun burns its “fuel”.) The surface temperature is around 5,800 KELVIN! From the surface down to about 70% of the solar radius, the thermal plasma is not dense enough to continue to carry the thermal radiation produced by the core, therefore there is a large decrease in temperature. Areas of the chromosphere can reach up to 20,000K depending on altitude, by this point helium is becoming ionized, and at higher altitudes within the chromosphere the temperature can reach up to 1,000,000 K. Further past this area, is the corona, which produces the solar wind. Areas in this region are normally found to be between 1,000,000-2,000,000 K. This is an active area of current research, while magnetic reconnection has been said to account for some of the rise in temperature, a full theory has not been produced. As far as I can tell the most active research areas are focused primarily on flare heating mechanisms. Hope this has been informative “homie”.
