Vanished: The Surrey Schoolgirl

Back in 1995 Ruth Wilson, a 15 year old schoolgirl from Surrey, England simply vanished into thin air. Having left for school on the morning of 27th November 1995, she never made it there but was spotted that evening at a local beauty spot known as Box Hill, after this it would seem that she dropped off the face of the Earth.

Ruth’s Mother had died a few years prior to this incident, her family had always proclaimed she died from an accidental fall down the stairs but her death certificate recorded her cause of death as suicide. Unbeknownst to her family, Wilson became aware of the true nature of her mother’s death before she disappeared, so it speculated that this is one of the key reasons Ruth ditched school that day.

Two decades on from her disappearance and people are still asking questions about the case, an ex-counter-terrorist policeman living in the nearby town felt that something just didn’t quite add up and started to investigate. After contacting the journalist who originally covered the story this ex-policeman’s suspicions reignited the case which in turn
