Wartorn is a HBO special which examines how war can effect a soldiers mental well being, inflicting an invisible wound which some find hard to recover from. Suicide among those who currently serve and veterans alike appears to be growing at an alarming rate causing much concern, this film takes a look at old archived footage, interviews, letters, etc. from wars as early as the US Civil War right up to todays modern conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, analyzing personal tales of those effected by PTSD in order to get a better idea of how these individuals cope with lasting effects of combat stress and if at all ever fully recover.
