Who Won the War?

Over 20 years ago the IRA and Loyalist paramilitaries declared an end to the so called war which claimed the lives of more than 3,000 people. Their historic ceasefire’s marked the beginning of a road to peace that Northern Ireland enjoys today.

Reporter Peter Taylor has been covering this conflict for more than 40 years and in this film he explores the contrast from back then up until now, explaining how he never dreamt that Northern Ireland could have been so utterly transformed from the war-zone that it was into somewhere that looks just like any other part of the United Kingdom.

Taylor also reflects upon the fact that he could never have imagined the day he would see the Republican and Unionist extremists Sinn Féin and the Democratic Unionist Party sharing political power at Stormont, the Parliament of Northern Ireland.

  1. RIP Bobby Sands
They called you a terrorist but I don’t see it like that you had a cause and you fought for it to the very end.
