Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an American professional boxer currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is well known for never having been beaten as a professional and is described as a money making machine. He is a five-division world champion, having won eight world titles and the lineal championship in three different weight classes. Mayweather is a two-time Ring magazine Fighter of the Year, has won the Boxing Writer’s Association of America Fighter of the Year and the Best Fighter ESPY award five times. What a lot of people don’t know is Mayweather’s difficult childhood. He grew up with a father who dealt drugs and a mother who was addicted to drugs. His father has served time for drug trafficking.
Mayweather grew up a lot at his grandmother’s and she was the one who encouraged him to keep going as a boxer telling him he would make it big. His father often brought him to the gym for training and other family members were boxers as well so when his father went to jail, Mayweather’s uncle helped train him. He dropped out of high school to become more serious about boxing. It was clear to him that he would have to take care of his mother, also, so he could then have more time with her and earn enough income to care for her. Seeing who he has become and how far he has come, a lot of people don’t realize the conditions in which he had to grow up. Mayweather is now living in luxury with everything he could want. However, he was charged for domestic abuse and did have to serve a short sentence of 87 days in 2012. Either way, Floyd Mayweather’s hard work and determination has turned him into a legend.
FLOYD ” ROADRUNNER” MAYWEATHER,, Hits and runs,, COWARD to stand toe to toe,,
The fairest and realistic assessment of Floyd Mayweather Jr (FMJ) is that he irrefutably possess’, or did possess a once in a generation skillset within boxing.
His resume’ indeed is one of glittering boxing royalty; but after his fight with Arturo Gatti, FMJ, developed a very cynical, yet highly successful business plan that infuriated fans, and had many questioning the style he employed in the ring, which was boring and evasive.
Other similarly gifted defensive fighters such as Pernell Whitaker and James Toney used their style but were fan friendly.
There also exists a cloud of controversy over his decision wins over Jose Luis Castillo.
In fact, Floyd almost always fought in the same arena his whole career.
Floyd made sure to intensely examine potential future opponents, and seemed to get them either in a slump or in the twilight of their career; Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Marquez etc. his farewell fight said it all in terms of playing it safe. Andre Berto? C;mon. Floyd could have challenged at least 5 fighters far more in form and better prospects for an exciting fight, and it has to be said, while Floyd pocketed hundreds of millions in what was termed the ‘mega dud’: his fight with Pacquiao (also past his best), he is almost solely responsible for turning a massive number of potential casual fight fans off the sport completely.
A selfish arsehole, with the tag of best in his generation, that gave nothing back except to infuriate fans, and now, boxing is no longer shown anywhere in my country unless I pay for it, thanks to the mega dud.
Mayweather has been ducking Pacman, all boxing fans know this. the evidence is out there if you look for it. He’s not a true champion until he fights the best.
The evidence outside of your mainstream sources and hatarade show against fairwather shows that Pacmans management refused the drug test scrutiny…..its beyond either athlete why they havnt fought yet….. perhaps you should research before commenting….. I personally think Pacman would win in 12 due to his pain tolerance being greater than fiat moneymay, but ,…..be factual before dropping lies on someone you dont know personally. Everyone is entitled to opinion, however when it is an uneducated one, makes you look like a glass joe. Both are champs. Step your ass in the ring with either one….then we’d all see who’d be ducking…
This was grrreat viewing, very exciting, then it ended so abruptly. I’ll have to look up what happened next.
