Professor Green or rather Stephen Manderson, is a British rapper who recently released several documentaries via BBC Three, some of which include Dangerous Dogs and Hidden and Homeless. In this film Stephen, embarks on more of a personal journey as he attempts to uncover the truth behind the suicide of his own father seven years ago.
His platinum single Read All About It and songs such as Goodnight touched on the issue and gave his fans some insight into this tragedy but now Stephen takes it a step further as he sets out to discover what really happened to this estranged dad. He speaks with several members of family about the issue for the first time and reconnects with old relatives. Stephen also gets in touch with other people who have been affected by suicide and those who try to prevent it.
Waring his heart on his sleeve Stephen explores the wider scourge of male suicide in the UK. Accounting for nearly 5,000 deaths a year in the UK, suicide is one of the single biggest killers and this film tries to make sense of the complex factors behind it and the stigma which surrounds it.
