10 years ago, a small company in California started making real life like dolls for sale. These dolls are more than a sex doll for some of the man who bought them, they develop feelings for these dolls and treated them like they’re alive.
The doll’s features can be customised and they cost up to 6000USD each. Business has been booming and there are over 3000 dolls shipped worldwide, they get about 400 orders of dolls per year. Some of these orders are absurd, one of them requested for a doll with pubic hair starting from the belly button all the way to the mid-back section and another one requested for an eighty year old granny doll.
Man this was a weird documentary. I feel terribly for some of them, who are clearly lonely and need companionship, in particular the one who talks about his mother.
But others- the ones who “couldn’t get someone this hot”, or didn’t want something that might talk back, have opinions, or decide not to have sex when they want it- those dudes came off creepy, toxic, entitled.
Donated PUBLIC HAIR….???
🤮
🤣 OMG.
I can’t take this seriously….
I’d buy two just to use the CARPOOL LANE for free.
They’d pay for themselves in two years.
poor guys, very sad, lonely people
oh so many Jeffrey Dahmer kind of people.
The best anyone can do is not care or judge because as soon as you label somebody it becomes more difficult for them to see themselves as anything else.
Un-watchable for me because the audio and video are not synched up.
And wait … How did that guy that lived with his parents afford a 4,000 dollar humpy doll?
I am so getting one of these dolls made only I’m gonna make it look like me so the next time somebody tells me to go hump myself I can ablige them
DO WOMEN DO THIS ALSO? OR DO THEY JUST CALL THEM DILDOS???????????
It’s a matter of perspective, I think, and a desperately lonely person may find it a boon while people less so see it as maladjusted. My personal opinion is that the doll is too much like a corpse. Attaching emotions to a hunk of rubber just wouldn’t fly but the same would apply if the thing had an electronic brain and moved around in a realistic way. It would always be a device.
I just feel so sorry for these guys.
But i’d rather see people use this sort of sexual outlet then turn to children or raping innocent people. Great documentary.
Come on ladies, look at all these eligible bachelors lol. Take your pick of Mr Right:)
I never thought that I could identify my weird side with something like this. Acceptance and companionship is all that one really ever needs.
There is a difference between a sex toy (dildo, fleshlight etc.). These men need someone. The second man introduced has some clear issues that stem from his mother passing. The third man introduced (the one with the guns and swords) really worries me. the fourth guy seems the most healthy, he seems to get that it’s not a real substitute, however the spare pubic hair was a bit much. I consider myself to be a little bit antisocial so I can sympathize with needing someone, but these men need help, they are beyond being lonely.

I don’t think they are freaks – rather they are human beings who long for social connection. I think it’s sad that they don’t realize that they are living in a lie when they think that these dolls are real people.
Freaks!!!! But the worst bit is the company who make them 3000 dolls at 6000 dollars that’s 18 million lol wonder what their net yearly profit is?
I don’t know what I find more disturbing: talking to the dolls as if they are real (“I’ll miss her and she’ll miss me”), or the random body parts sticking out from under beds, sofas and boxes in the garage (plus that guy’s make-up jobs were truly horrifying, barf!). I am also reminded of serial killers when I see people/people-like objects hanging from chains O_o
However, I don’t think it’s “wrong”, I think it is different (very, very different). As long as these people understand that they are dolls, not companions, I don’t see the harm. Although it seems many cannot make that distinction. That’s sort of sad. But I think they are brave to share their stories.
Also, I find the terms these men use for real women and the dolls very interesting (organic, synthetic, etc). In some cases it seems to highlight the separation they feel from society.
Everard/Principal Skinner. Just sayin.
what’s the big deal about a human sized plastic vagina? I mean, some chicks like big plastic dildos. Just wait ’til these dolls are robotic.
The issue isn’t about the use of something inanimate for sexual pleasure. When a women uses a vibrator or dildo it is safe to say it’s generally no more than sexual gratification given to themselves during a period of their life where they are single and not having frequent sex. The dildos tend to get put back into a drawer when a women enters a sexual relationship with a man.
The reason the spotlight has been placed on to the men in this documentary is because many of them use the dolls to satisfy emotional requirements as well as sexual. And that’s definitely not healthy as it displays they have issues with dealing with real people, or more specifically, real women.
THIS IS WRONG. IT SEEMS LIKE IT GIVES THEESE MEN A FAULSE SENSE OF SECURITY. YES THE DOLLS WILL ALWAYS BE THERE. BUT SO WILL THE PROBLEM. NO MTTER WHAT. ITS NOT REAL. UNNATURAL AND WRONG.
what i really like about this film is the absurdist sincerity of men grappling the big questions of love and normalcy, and the beautiful understatement of the narration. classic.
hilariously entertaining and a wee bit creepy.
I understand how one can have a short affair with an inanimate object ( I myself had a short lived affair with Stephen Colbert’s I am America and so can you), but I really can’t imagine having a long term, sexual relationship.
a removable tongue?!?

I usually do not try to dance better than anyone else. I simply attempt to boogie better than myself
