An Honest Man is a film about the life of R. Budd Dwyer and it dives into the Computer Technology Associates scandal that lead Dwyer to publicly commit suicide during a press conference. The documentary itself features a number of interview from friends, family and associates of Dwyer’s in an attempt to better understand the situation. These interviews include Dwyer’s widow Joanne (her last before her death in 2009) and William T. Smith, the man whose testimony convicted Dwyer. Smith reveals in the film that he gave false testimony under oath and that he thus is ‘responsible’ for Dwyer’s death.
