The Watts Family Murders occurred on the early morning of August 13th, 2018, in Frederick, Colorado, United States. Chris Watts murdered his pregnant wife Shanann, and their two young daughters. For the first time members of the investigation team who secured Watts confession share their personal accounts of the case as it unfolded.
This particular crime shook America as it seemed as though the Watts Family had it all, with a beautify family, an amazing house and great careers they were truly living the American dream, but all was not what it seemed. Chris would come to snap killing his wife and their daughters, four-year-old Bella, and three-year-old Celeste, who died by asphyxiation due to smothering. Watts would then dispose of his daughters’ bodies in oil tanks and buried his wife in a shallow grave at his work-site.
What made this case so compelling was the fact that the majority of interactions between the police and Watts were captured on the police body cams and allowed us to see the events unfold minute by minute, hour by hour.
Watts would later plead guilty on November 6, 2018, to multiple counts of first-degree murder as part of a plea deal when the death penalty was removed from sentencing.
