Space Barbie

The world knows Valeria Lukyanova as the girl who turned herself into a real-life Barbie doll. Controversy has surrounded her every move since her computer-perfect visage went viral last year.

However, what most of the world doesn’t know is that Valeria is not a real girl at all, but a time-travelling spiritual guru whose purpose is to save the world from the clutches of superficiality and negative energy.

Valeria, AKA Space Barbie, gives us exclusive access to her world to show us how physical perfection truly is the best medium through which to deliver life-changing philosophy to the human race.

  1. Eres un figura. Gracias Saludos

  2. Space Barbie is a SUPER Trump supporter. If anyone’s seen her Instagram. She’s whack.

  3. Valeria Valeryevna Lukyanova (Ukrainian: Вале́рія Вале́ріївна Лук’я́нова;Russian: Валерия Валерьевна Лукьянова; born August 23, 1985) is a Moldovan-born Ukrainian model and entertainer, notable for her resemblance to a Barbiedoll, with several sources describing her as, among other handles, a “real-life Barbie doll” and “human Barbie”. To enhance the effect Lukyanova uses makeup and contact lenses over her naturally green eyes. She has stated that she has had breast implants, but that the rest of her body is completely natural and slender due to daily gym workouts and a special diet.[7] She sometime has been compared to the Human Ken Doll, Justin Jedlica.

  4. I think Valeria is fascinating… say what you want about her look. It’s weird. But she owns it. She’s almost sexualized to the point of being desexualized, you know? She’s overidentifying with the extreme end of feminine beauty standards and guess what, the guys are flipping out. The vitriol she receives in the video is from guys who want to paint her as a stupid, vapid bitch. And she can feed off that. It doesn’t bother her. She is totally at one with herself, and that’s where the backlash comes from– she’s using the tools of the patriarchy to seize power and she is not submissive. She’s doing what she wants to do. I don’t see her on the arm of any guy here. Her philosophy is pretty weird but I believe that she believes it 100%, and frankly it’s not the most ridiculous thing anybody’s ever come up with, and it’s a lot more interesting and compassionate than what most people are spewing. I’m a feminist and I support Space Barbie.

  5. How does one (expect to) “save the world from superficiality” by passing themselves off, of all things, as a toy whose entire ethos revolves around materialism and pretense? Ridiculous.

  6. I think she is therefore brilliant. We are not the same. Everyone is different, so we should just accept our differences. OK?!

  7. I think she’s brilliant !

  8. Hahahaha!
She was such a bitch when she thought the cameras weren’t rolling!

  9. Umm…I’m not criticizing, but nothing in this documentary was practical! N moreover, she didn’t tell much about herself!

  10. what a sad, self-absorbed woman-child…

  11. LOL ~ She must have bumped her head….

  12. She is not real. It says it on the description of the video.

  13. she spoke some very interesting things, i like her

  14. This documentary does a poor job of explaining who this young woman is, how she came to become whatever it is that she claims to be & what she does. Her spiritual philosophy seems to be jut another New Age cocktail consisting of watered-down Buddhism, a belief in aliens & garden-variety psychic stuff. There is nothing new here except that the same familiar messages are being transmitted through a young woman who has transformed herself into a caricature of idealized Western beauty & Japanese Anime animations. Perhaps, like everything about this girl, the documentary is deliberately vague & intangible in order to further cultivate an aura of mystery around ‘Amatue’.

What she is doing is extremely expensive: from the surgeries, to the costumes, make-up & travel. Nothing about this girl speaks of inherited wealth. I wonder who is bank-rolling this charade & what their interest is?

The Legolas meets Jasper Beardly meets George Zimmer shtick had me literally in stitches: I laughed do much I had to replay it to understand what she was saying! While I was tempted to think that this girl has loose screws, there are many Hollywood types who have had far more plastic surgeries than she has had. I think she may have some Dysmorphia going on but beneath the thick layer of turquoise eye-shadow she’s just another huckster.

  15. This little girl is ridiculous! but more then that, has anyone tried to help her, I think she is way beyond arrogant or self indulged, she is obviously crying out for help, and she is going to hurt herself, where is her family, why are they not interceding with this poor girl, she needs medical help and lots of mental therapy , in fact it makes me wonder what happen to her to make herself feel she isn’t worthy just the way she is, someone should check into her, someone out there must care about her!

  16. This is not something I would usually watch but curiosity got to me. It is poorly done and didn’t explain who she is and how she became “Barbie”. Her creepy stare/head tilt into the camera made me turn it off. I felt sorry for her because I don’t think she realises she has mental health problems and no one else is willing to help her move beyond how she looks. It will be very sad in a few years when she gets older and she begins dealing with an ageing body.

    • i totally agree! this was sad. You don’t get a sense at all to who she is or why she has changed her look so dramatically. I couldn’t watch past half way.

  17. The doc fails in explaining who this person is. Eventually we gather she’s a big deal, somewhere, on YouTube at least (or people imitate her and/or make videos attacking her, which is a big deal in a way).
It relies too much on voice-overs, and though the subject is interesting it never really probes with any depth into what makes her tick.
Got tired of it about 10 minutes in

  18. I wish people who leave comments would focus on whether the documentary was entertaining…ie. comment on thought-provocation, pace, cinematography, comprehensiveness, etc. Sure, your personal reaction to the subject matter is worth a mention, but if that’s all you got it reveals nothing about the doc. I hope people don’t rate based upon that criteria (personal reaction to content). Respect the documentary makers and give feedback on the quality of work, regardless of your personal feelings about the subject. If the doc maker, however, was too biased towards one POV, in your opinion, to the exclusion of others, that’s interesting. Expand!

  19. Without having yet watched this documentary, simply from reading the description, I already strongly disagree with the message of this film.

“Physical perfection truly is the best medium through which to deliver life-changing philosophy to the human race” …I find this to be the opposite of the truth. Physical perfection represents superficiality, which is precisely what the description states that the film/girl is trying to fight against. There isn’t really such a thing as “the best medium through which to deliver life-changing philosophy to the human race”… there are a number of ways to do this, but I don’t think any single one of them could be thought of as “the best” one. But even if that weren’t true, physical perfection would be pretty much at the bottom of the list.

Ok, so now I am going to watch the film, & if it proves me wrong I will make another comment stating that I was wrong. But I fail to see how physical perfection & superficiality are at odds with one another- quite the contrary, they go hand-in-hand.

  20. She does not look like Barbie she looks like Paris Hilton lol…

  21. She had me almost convinced, but I think it was mainly because she had a great rack.

  22. What the…. Never been so amazed and sad at the same time before. I guess you should be happy for her, she seems happy, but I don’t ever want to spend time thinking about her again. Goodbye Barbie.

  23. Well, I really enjoyed that. I was a little concerned about the lack of furniture in her apartment. I can’t explain why this should concern me. It could be like over here, where you get the Doll for your birthday and then the House and furniture for Christmas and if you are a Very Good Girl, you get the Jeep and Pony…. and hopefully some friends to play with. I hope that she finds her Ken, but not before she has had lots of adventures…. Yes, I really did enjoy that.
    Goodbye, Barbie…x x x x x .

  24. Self-Obsession is embarrassing to watch at the best of times… this is literally, spine-shatteringly cringe-worthy. There are no words to describe the level of self delusion this person is experiencing and it is simply inflated by the cretins that beg at her feet as she pouts mindlessly into the distance…
